Code of Ethics Greeting Cards that make people happy The Fine Art Cards Code of Ethics demonstrates our honest desire to conduct our business with integrity by sticking to our moral principles and our core values. We believe that people send greeting cards to let their families and friends know that they are thinking about them and caring about them. We send cards on happy occasions such as Birthdays and Christmas and the not-so-happy occasion when a kind word is so appreciated. Everyone feels great when they receive an unexpected card in the post. Greeting cards keep people connected and enable us to use the power of words, and carefully chosen images, to help us express our feelings and emotions. Fine Art Cards believe that greeting cards are sent to make people feel happy and this is why we will NEVER produce cards with rude, obscene images that are emblazoned with expletives or profanities that may offend, harass, upset, embarrass, anger or alarm anyone. Vulgar greeting cards are currently booming and often consist of inappropriate swearwords without any images which are quick and cheap to produce requiring little or no creativity. It would be easy for Fine Art Cards to follow this lucrative trend in obscene greeting cards (and make a lot of cash) but we refuse to sacrifice our integrity and values to become a totally money-driven organisation. The name of our UK registered Trademark Felicitas® demonstrates our long term commitment to the values described in our Ethics Code and our determination to conduct business in a considerate and caring manner. The ancient Roman Goddess of happiness, good luck and success was named Felicitas. The word ‘Felicitations’ (meaning congratulations or good wishes on a special occasion) derives from her name and is occasionally used today as a greeting to express pleasure at the success or good fortune of another.
